How to Screen Record on a Samsung Phone

To screen record on a Samsung Galaxy phone, swipe down from the top with two fingers to open Quick Settings, tap Screen recorder, choose a sound option, and tap Start recording. How to screen record on a Samsung Galaxy phone

  1. Swipe down twice from the top of the screen to open the full Quick Settings panel.
  2. Tap Screen recorder. You may need to swipe to find it or tap the plus to add it.
  3. Choose a sound setting: No sound, Media sounds, or Media sounds and mic.
  4. Tap Start recording. A three-second countdown appears, then recording begins.
  5. Use the toolbar to draw on screen or show taps, then tap the stop square to finish.

How to screen record on Samsung with sound

When you start a recording, pick Media sounds to capture the audio playing on the phone, or Media sounds and mic to add your own narration on top. Choose No sound for a silent capture.

Where do Samsung screen recordings save?

Recordings save to the Gallery app, in a Screen recordings album, and to DCIM in your files. Trim one right in the Gallery editor, or to tighten the pace see how to speed up a video.

Why can’t I screen record on my Samsung phone?

  • There is no Screen recorder tile. Swipe down twice, tap the plus or the edit pencil, and add Screen recorder to Quick Settings.

  • Some apps stay black. Banking and streaming apps block screen recording by design.
